A quick concept sketch of updated costume for Carlitos. He has the Male model angst look, work it!
Started off as a quick sketch, got a little caught up using new brushes!
anyone else excited as me for the new season of Sailor Moon?!
I have just finished Transistor, it was a extraordinary experience that paired a rich story with awe inspiring art and a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack.
I struggled a lot trying to come up with a suitable background that would capture the look of the locales of the game, specially since the more you progress through the story the environments becomes increasingly more abstract.
In the end I opted for a background that served to highlight the relationship between Red and the Soul trapped inside the Transistor.
It had been a long time since I updated my display picture/ avatar. So here is a new one!
Concept > roughs > clean up > colours.
Advanced Character Design Assignment 4: Draw 3 women in a line up, each with a different body shape, wearing waitress outfits.
Originally supposed to be a quick sketch, I couldn’t stop working on it! I had a lot of fun with this one.
Currently half way through my Advanced Character design class, I decided to revisit an old design and update it with my new skills. Just a quick sketch but I wanted to test out how far I have come.
I was running low on inspiration for drawing practice this evening. Since I was spending so much time on facebook I decided to turn my procrastination into something more productive.
I started by choosing people at complete random from my friends list and started quickly (and that is the key word) trying to capture the features which would best capture the likeness of my unsuspecting victims.
I have purposely left out names for 2 reasons:
1. To see if people may be able to recognise their real life counterparts based on my drawings.
2. Possible deniability incase my muse are not amused… I can always argue all likeness they think they see is just my inability to capture SOMEONE else.
I have been in a Simpsons mood recently. Here is a process picture showing sketch > inking > colour.
"in the beginning if you want to learn how to play an instrument, you have to learn to play another musician’s song. If you wanted to learn to draw, you have to draw other artists pictures." - Stephen Silver.
I have always been a big fan of Disney art and dreamed of the day I would be able to draw just like them, specially the disney princesses (or queen this this case). I am pretty happy how this one turned out!
Special mention and thanks to my mother for buying me the “Art of Frozen” book which I have found to be incredibly inspiring.
